Through discussion and practical examples, educators will learn how active supervision supports positive relationships, enhancing children’s emotional well-being.

Description: This workshop explores the powerful role of Parentese the sing-song, simplified, and highly responsive way adults naturally speak to infants in shaping early brain development and socio-emotional growth. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how intentional, sensitive communication can foster secure attachment, emotional regulation, and a rich language environment in educational settings.

Bilingual & Dual Language Innovation in the Early Years

Description: Many home-based childcare providers serve children who speak more than one language. This session shares simple, practical strategies to support bilingual development, early literacy, and strong cultural identity in small-group, home-based settings. Participants will explore easy-to-implement routines, language-rich interactions, and family partnership practices that help dual language learners thrive.

Language Exploration: Through the Eyes of a 2 year old

Description: Language exploration at the two-year-old level occurs through multiple developmental pathways. Through meaningful interactions, sensory-rich play, read-aloud experiences, music, and dramatic play, toddlers build foundational listening skills, expressive language, vocabulary, and early literacy abilities. During this workshop, participants will gain a deeper understanding of language development as a critical area of rapid brain growth and learn practical strategies to intentionally support communication skills in two-year-olds.
